News:
Hello Aria, congratulations on the release of your first
single "I still believe in Fairy Tales". Why was this
song picked as the first single?
Thank
you! This song was chosen as my first single because we thought
it was a really good representation of the themes on the album
and also of me as a person and artist.
WCR
News: Congratulations also on filming your
first music video! How was the experience of recording your
first music video?
Thank
you! It was so amazing! I love watching music videos so to be
able to film one of my own was a dream come true! It was also
fun to see the song come to life visually. It was a really special
video for me, not only because it was the first one I've ever
done but also because there were some personal details thrown
in. In the bedroom scene, the fairy is supposed to represent
one of the last things I have of a person who passed, but in
reality, the comforter on the bed was a present from my grandma,
who passed away. So it was little touches like that that made
it extra special. I talked a bit about that in my behind the
scenes blog
that I did for the video.
WCR
News: What is the meaning behind the video?
In
the video, someone very close to me has passed away and I'm
obviously feeling really down about it. The beginning is in
black and white to show the darkness and sadness of the funeral
and how I'm feeling about the whole situation. It really sets
the mood for the verses. The verses show me after the funeral
singing about how it's hard to believe in better times when
things go wrong. Then in the chorus, everything is brighter
because I'm singing about how I won't let the world get to me.
At the end, I'm home after the funeral and I pick up a fairy
that was given to me by the person who passed and I sing to
it that I won't let the world get me down. The video is really
about finding the strength to still believe in your dreams and
happy endings after things go wrong. I did a behind the scenes
video diary about it on my
youtube channel.
WCR
News: Thank you for your time. Is there anything else
you would like to say to your fans?
Thank you! I would just like to say thank you to my fans, my
butterflies, for their support and I hope they enjoy the video
as much as I enjoyed creating it. I hope it uplifts and inspires
them to still believe in their dreams and the good things in
life, especially when things go wrong. I want them to know that
they should always hold onto their dreams and always have a
positive outlook on life, despite whatever negativity is going
on around them.
